Get clear on your why

The first step to starting your fitness coaching business while working full time is to get clear on your why. Why do you want to start a fitness coaching business? What’s your motivation?
Your why will be your driving force when things get tough (and they will get tough). So it’s important that you have a strong why.
Some examples of a strong why:
– I want to help people live healthier lives.
– I want to make a difference in the lives of others.
– I want to help people reach their fitness goals.
Identify if you are ready to make this commitment

The second step to starting your fitness coaching business while working full-time is to identify if you are ready to make this commitment. This is a big decision and it’s not one that should be taken lightly.
To help you decide if you’re ready to make the commitment, ask yourself these questions:
– Am I willing to work long hours?
– Am I willing to sacrifice my free time?
– Am I willing to invest money into my business?
– Am I coachable and open to feedback?
– Am I committed to my own personal growth?
If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you’re ready to make the commitment.
Accept that your life is about to change and that you are going to be super busy

No one said that starting a business while working a full-time job would be easy! In fact, it’s going to be really hard. You’re going to have to work hard and you’re going to have to sacrifice your free time.
You’ll go from working 40 hours a week to working 60, 70, or even 80 hours a week. You’ll have to wake up early and stay up late. You’ll have to work on weekends. And you’ll have to say no to social events.
But it will all be worth it in the end! But try not to put too much on your plate or you may risk burning out.
It is important to create a schedule and get organized. I recommend using a planner to help you stay on track.
Have your business plan set and ready to go

An idea without a plan is just a dream. So if you want to make your fitness coaching business a reality, you need to have a business plan set and ready to go.
Not sure where to start? Here are some questions to help you get started:
– What services will you offer?
– Who is your target market?
– How will you market your business?
– How will you generate income?
– What are your business expenses?
– What are your long-term business goals?
It is time to tell everyone what you are doing!

This is definitely not the time to be shy! You want your business get as much exposure as possible. So start spreading the word to your family, friends, and anyone else who will listen!
Use social media, e-mail, flyers, or even word-of-mouth to get the word out there. The more people you tell, the better!
If possible consider cutting back your hours at work

This one may not be easy but it can be very helpful. If you can, consider cutting back your hours at work so that you can have more time to focus on your business.
Even cutting back by a few hours can make a big difference. Just make sure that you talk to your manager first! But remember not all managers are excited to hear their employee wants to start a business on the side.
Family is still important. Keep a family routine!

Family is important. Especially on this new journey that you are about to embark on, do not forget that. You will get busy and things will start to feel like they are taking over but always remember to keep a family routine!
This is going to look different for everyone but try to keep some normalcy in your house. If you usually have a family dinner, still have a family dinner. If you have kids, still make time to read them a bedtime story. Life is going to get hectic but try not to let your family suffer because of it
Family lasts a lifetime but your business is only temporary.
The client should not run your life

Just because you have a client that wants to meet at 5 am does not mean that you have to meet at 5 am.
Be firm with your clients and set boundaries. You are the one in charge! If you need to meet at a certain time, let them know. If they are not happy with it, they can always find someone else.
But do not forget, you have a life outside of work too!
Be patient. Your time will come and don’t pay too much attention to the outside world

This is probably one of the hardest things for people to do. Be patient. Everyone’s time will come. Just because you are not where you want to be yet, does not mean that you never will be.
Do not get too caught up in what other people are doing. Their success is not your success. You are on your own journey and you need to focus on that.
Comparing yourself to others will only make you feel worse and it will not do anything to help you move forward.
Remember that business is a marathon and not a sprint. So don’t expect your business to become a million-dollar business within 3 months.
It takes time, dedication, and hard work to be successful.
Take some time for you!

This is probably one of the most important pieces of advice that I can give you. In order to be successful, you need to take care of yourself first.
You need to make sure that you are getting enough sleep, eating healthy, and exercising
You also need to take some time for yourself to relax and destress. This can be anything from reading, taking a bath, or going for a walk.
Find something that works for you and make sure to do it regularly. It is so important to take care of yourself both physically and mentally.
When you are ready, quit your fulltime job and go all in!

This is the final step and it is a big one. Once you have built up your business to a point where you are ready to quit your full-time job, then do it!
Of course, this is not going to be easy and it is a big decision but if you have been following all of the steps above, then you should be ready.
There is no right or wrong answer when it comes to quitting your job. You just need to make sure that you are ready and you have a plan in place.
Conclusion

Starting a fitness coaching business while working full-time can be a challenge but it is definitely possible. Just make sure to follow the steps above and you will be on your way to success!
Do not forget to take some time for yourself and to enjoy the journey. It is not going to be easy but it will be worth it in the end.
