This policy explains which cookies www.letsbuildthatsite.com uses, what each one does, and how to change your mind.
The short version: this website sets no tracking cookies unless you accept them. If you decline, the only thing stored is a small record that you declined, so we do not have to ask you again on every page.
Updated 1 August 2026: we added Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, so the tables below now cover analytics and session recording as well as advertising. Because those are new purposes — and because a recording is a bigger ask than a counter — everyone is being asked to choose again. An answer given to a previous version does not carry over.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Some are needed for a site to work or to remember a choice you made. Others record what you do so that advertising can be measured.
Under EU law we may use the first kind without asking. We may only use the second kind if you agree first, and we have to make refusing as easy as agreeing.
Essential cookies
This one is strictly necessary: without it we could not remember your choice, so it does not require consent. It contains your choice, the date you made it and the version of this policy you saw. It holds nothing that identifies you personally.

Marketing cookies, only if you accept
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta Pixel lets us see whether those ads actually lead to enquiries, so we are not spending blindly.
The pixel is not loaded at all until you accept. If you decline, no request is ever made to Meta and none of the cookies below are set.
If you do accept, the data collected by the pixel is sent to Meta Platforms in the United States, and Meta uses it as an independent controller. Meta’s own privacy policy governs what it does with that data.

Analytics cookies, only if you accept
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people actually read, so we can improve the ones that are not working. It tells us how the site is used, not who you are.
Analytics is covered by the same single choice as the advertising cookies above: accept and both are set, decline and neither is. Like the pixel, Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you accept, so no request is made to Google and none of the cookies below are set.
If you do accept, the data is sent to Google, which acts as our processor for analytics. We have IP anonymisation on by default in GA4 and we have not enabled Google Signals or advertising personalisation from this data.

Session recording, only if you accept
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are actually used: where people click, how far down they scroll, and where a page loses them. It produces heatmaps and replays of a visit, which is how we find the parts of the site that do not work.
A replay shows the page and how it was used — movement, scrolling and clicks. It does not show what you type. The enquiry form is masked in the page itself, so your name, email address, company, phone number and brief are never recorded. We do not ask for card details or passwords anywhere on this site, so there are none to capture.
This is covered by the same single choice as the cookies above: accept and it runs, decline and it does not. Like the pixel and Google Analytics, Clarity is not loaded at all until you accept, so no request is made to Microsoft and none of the cookies below are set.
If you do accept, the recording is sent to Microsoft in the United States. Microsoft acts as our processor, and its own terms permit it to use the data for its products and advertising, which is why we name it here rather than leaving it as “analytics”.

Changing your mind
Select “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. You can withdraw your consent as easily as you gave it, at any time, and the website will keep working exactly as before.
We will ask again after six months, so a choice you made once does not last forever.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Because this website needs no cookies to function, blocking them will not break anything. You will simply be asked for your choice again on your next visit.
