Let’s Build That Site (“we”, “us”) operates this website. This policy explains what personal data the site collects, why, who it reaches, and what you can ask us to do about it.
It is written to the standard of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are the data controller for the data described here.
The short version: this website collects only what you choose to send us through the enquiry form, and delivers it to our inbox. It has no accounts, no analytics and no cookies.
What this website collects
Only what you type into the enquiry form and send: your name, your email address and your message, and, if you add them, your company, your phone number and the service you are asking about. The form also notes which language version of the site you were using.
There is no account, no login, no newsletter, no comments and no customer portal on this website, and nothing is collected while you simply read it.
The enquiry form
When you press send, what you typed goes from your browser to this website’s server. The server turns it into an email and hands it to Resend, an email delivery service, which delivers it to our inbox at info@letsbuildthatsite.com. Your email address is set as the reply address, so we can answer you directly.
The website itself keeps no copy. Once the email has arrived, we hold it the way we hold any other email from someone who has contacted us. That is covered below.
If you would rather not use the form, the email address and WhatsApp number on the contact page reach us just as well.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
Messages you send us, to reply to you and, if you are asking about a project, to prepare a quote. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
Server logs kept by our hosting provider, to keep the website available, secure and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating the site (Article 6(1)(f)).
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies at all. The only thing it stores in your browser is a single marker, named lbts-cookie-notice-v1, written when you dismiss the notice that appears on your first visit, so that it is not shown to you again. It records nothing except that you closed it, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it.
There is no Google Analytics, no Meta or Facebook pixel, no tag manager, no session recording, no heatmaps and no advertising network on this site.
The fonts are served from this site’s own domain rather than loaded from Google, so visiting a page does not tell Google that you were here.
Because there is nothing to consent to, there is no Accept-or-Decline banner, only a short notice saying so. Our Cookie Policy says the same thing at more length.
Who it reaches
Our hosting provider, which serves the site, runs the small piece of server code that receives the enquiry form, and keeps standard server logs including IP addresses, as every web host does. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.
Resend, the service that delivers the enquiry form to our inbox. It receives what you typed into the form for that purpose only, under its own data processing terms.
WhatsApp, which is part of Meta, if you tap a WhatsApp link. Your message and your phone number are then handled by WhatsApp under their own privacy policy, which we do not control.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Sending data outside the EU
Our hosting provider and Resend are both based in the United States, so what you send through the enquiry form may be processed there on its way to our inbox, under their data processing terms.
If you contact us through WhatsApp, Meta may process that message outside the European Economic Area under its own safeguards.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work are kept while we are still in conversation and are then deleted.
If we do work together, the correspondence and the paperwork around it are kept for as long as Dutch tax and administration rules require.
Server logs are kept for the short period our hosting provider retains them.
Resend keeps a record of each email it delivers for a limited period under its own retention rules.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to limit what we do with it, object to our using it, or ask for it in a portable form.
Email info@letsbuildthatsite.com and we will answer within one month. In practice there is rarely much to send: unless you have written to us, we do not have anything about you.
If you think we have handled your data badly you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 16.
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the enquiry form is encrypted on its way to us. The site itself stores nothing, so the main thing to protect is our own mailbox and phone, which are access-controlled.
Changes to this policy
If the website changes in a way that affects this document, whether that is an analytics script, a cookie or a new service handling the enquiry form, this policy is updated at the same time, and the date at the top changes with it.
